Here's a graph ofAmerican Kennel Club registrations by year broken down into dogs and litters for Lowchens. *1995 was the first year of recognition for the Lowchens, but none were registered until 1996. There were not 746 (show off the axis) dogs born that year. Many of those dogs (including adults) were registered for the first time with AKC in 1996. It is more representative of the number of actual Lowchens in the US as opposed to number of puppies only.
*There are some dogs that are not registered. Not all dogs are registered
because people forget to register their dogs or the "breeders" don't find
registration valuable.
