How the Jets Litter Is Being Raised
Every Roman Reign litter is raised on the Puppy Culture protocol, which goes well beyond basic care. It’s a structured program designed to teach puppies to regulate their own emotions, recover quickly after being startled, enter new situations with confidence, communicate with their humans, and most importantly learning how to learn. Here’s what that looks like in practice for the Jets litter:
Easy travelers from day one. These puppies have already been in a vehicle multiple times before 10 days old. By the time they’re ready for Gotcha Day, most Roman Reign litters have logged 50–60 hours of car time to make travel an everyday part of life.
Early Scent Introduction (ESI). The puppies are already exploring new smells as a part of a structured scent-introduction protocol using items like gluten, peanuts, cashews, pistachios, and various common allergens to build confident, curious noses early.
Startle recovery. Starting around three weeks old, puppies go through a startle protocol: door slams, banged pots, dropped objects. The goal isn’t to stress them — it’s to teach fast recovery, so as adults they tend to show little to no sensitivity to loud noises like thunderstorms or fireworks.
Confidence on unsteady surfaces. Wobble boards, swings, a slow-moving treadmill, and a vibration plate help build the kind of body confidence that makes new floors, ramps, and vet tables feel like no big deal.
Out in the world safely. Once puppies have their first round of vaccines, they begin visiting low-risk public environments such as pet-friendly stores, the automotive shop, and home improvement stores. They typically ride in a stroller so we can control their interactions and minimize disease exposure while gaining critical socialization.
A head start on house training. Puppies will be artificial turf trained during their time with us; by 8 weeks, most are reliably using their designated spot. This gives new owners a real head start rather than starting from zero.
